The MVB Research and Development office has always promoted the study, production and implementation of eco-sustainable products which offer concrete advantages to customers, end users and the environment. Each phase of the life cycle of our products has been optimized to minimize the environmental impact, from the choice of raw materials to the production processes, up to the management of the life cycle and the recycling/reuse of the product itself.

LEED® credits and product mapping
The LEED® rating system is based on the attribution of credits that determine the sustainability of a project or building. Used in over 160 countries, it represents today the most authoritative and universally recognized system for the certification of buildings designed, constructed and managed in a sustainable and efficient way.
Although olny buildings can obtain LEED® certification, the use of LEED® compliant products is essential for obtaining the certification. MVB offers high-quality products that contribute to obtaining LEED® credits for projects in four main areas.

Description | All MVB products are recyclable, reusable and made from regional raw materials. | MVB permeable floors contribute to the protection of aquifers and vegetation, mitigate the heat and have low water consumption. | GREEN ACTIVE products naturally reduce pollutants in the atmosphere thanks to photocatalytic concrete. | Products with S.R.I. certified reduce the heat island effect, decreasing the heating of paved surfaces. |
Minimum Environmental Criteria
MVB products satisfy the provisions of 8 chapters of the Minimum Environmental Criteria (C.A.M.), defined in the Official Journal no. 259 of 6 November 2017 – Minimum environmental criteria for the awarding of design services and works for new construction, renovation and maintenance – and related updates listed in the Official Gazette. n. 183 of 6 August 2022 – Minimum Environmental Criteria for the assignment of design and execution services for building interventions.
MVB is able to provide test reports and certificates that attest the compliance with the required performances, demonstrating compliance with individual criteria, including:
- Certificates of use of recycled materials
- Maintenance of permeability
- Reduction of the impact on the microclimate
- End of life and disassembly (reuse) of products
The designer is required to present a technical report, attaching the documentation provided, in which the characteristics of the products are highlighted in compliance with the individual required criteria.
