How does it work

The particular GREEN ACTIVE mixture of MVB pavers, containing Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) with catalytic action, carries out a disintegration action of fine dust, nitrogen, carbon and sulfur oxides (generated in urban environments by car exhausts and heating systems), transforming them into substances that are harmless to men’s health and the environment.

The photocatalytic action of GREEN ACTIVE has been tested in laboratories with CNR approved equipment. The test results showed a reduction of the polluting agent NOx (nitrogen oxides) of more than 80%.

Furthermore, the effectiveness of photocatalytic binders in reducing nitrogen oxides present in the environment was also measured in the open field through the monitoring of over 1.000 hours in various projects made with MVB flooring.

The results obtained, although they differ slightly from those found in the laboratory due to the influence of atmospheric agents and different environmental and geographical conditions, are remarkable, especially considering the conditions of solar radiation and the number of hours of winter light during which measurements were carried out.

The reduction of pollutants was significant for all the main substances, as well as for mold and bacteria.
